Spring gamankeppni show

A Fun and Educational Ranked Show

April 20-21

A WARM AND GRACIOUS KY WELCOME!
Welcome back to the beautiful oval and pace track at Jim and Marianne Welch ́s historic Locust Hill Farm, which is located at 11811 Covered Bridge Road (Hwy 329) in Prospect KY. The farm is conveniently close to hotels, shopping and eating. In partnership with Locust Hill, we are looking forward to reviving the old KY Show tradition of good instruction, competition, and fun.

Pre-Show Lessons with Carrie, Terral, & Anna
Our goal is to support you through the entire process of competing. Whether you are a seasoned competitive rider or a newbie we are here to help! Contact us to sign up for a pre-competition tune up by texting Carrie at (502) 409-1924 to schedule.

Simplified Fees
We will be charging a flat fee for participation of $125 per horse rider combo for the weekend (Bourbon T0lt, Leadline, and Old Hero Freestyle are free). You can participate in as many classes as is allowed per FEIF/USIHC rules for you and your horse.  We are willing to add special classes such as additional green horse or novice horse classes upon request.

We will not be renting stalls or providing official overnight accommodations for participants. Boarding may be arranged through Taktur or you may create your own electric fence or paneled paddock on-site. Trailering in and out is encouraged. Call Carrie ahead of time if you need assistance arranging accommodations for your horse.

Community Event
This will be a local community run event dependent on volunteers donating their time! If you want to support the event by volunteering let us know!

Friday Night Rider Meeting

We will host a riders meeting at Taktur Friday night at 6:30PM. There will be pizza! This will be your opportunity to ask questions, and make any last minute schedule changes. We look forward to seeing you there!

Team Competition

The Team Competition was a participant favorite last fall, and we are excited to bring it back for the spring show! Join a group of friends and form a team that will compete for a set of team competition trophies. Each team must have an Open Level Rider (any group open or open individual ranked classes or pace class/times scored via Pace Test Rules), a Youth Rider (any youth rider competing in any class), a Fun Class Rider (competing in any scored fun class such as trail obstacle), and an Adult Amateur Rider (competing in any ranked classes). A unique team name must be decided on and be declared via this form prior to the start of the event.

The boring stuff...

  • We need your pre-registration form filled out by April 10th

  • Make sure to fill out both the Taktur Release Form and Locust Hill Release Form found at the top of this page. You can bring the forms with you to the riders meeting Friday night.

  • Please make sure your horse has a current Coggins. If you’re traveling from out of state, we also need a Health Certificate. In addition to requiring vaccinations for infections passed between horses (Flu, Rhino, Strangles), we highly recommended that Flu/Rhino boosters be given between 3 months and 2 weeks before coming to the show.

  • All USIHC competition rules and FEIF rules will apply at this show.

  • All riders must be USIHC members. If not, you will be charged a $25 fee.

  • All riders will automatically be entered into the USIHC National Ranking where applicable.

Call or text Carrie directly with any and all questions at (502)409-1924
